Dead Fishies “Aren’t Much fun”….

For some reason the bunch of Chromis I ordered decided to pull a Jonestown.
All of the other fish in the tank are great, the anemones are cool, and the water PRAMS are SPOT ON. The question I have is that I am not going to rip apart my tank to retrieve their carcases from here and there and any way, the bristle star seems to want to try to eat them anyway.
IS there any reason I can’t just leave the few remaining bodies there? There have not been any spikes in anything so I am assuming the water quality is not the issue.
If they float to the top I will grab them but I am not sure why they died in the first place because everything else seems so happy… Thanks

That is how chromis are. How many did you have? If you have a good clean up crew then they will eat the remains. I wouldn't leave them in there for long though. Keep a close eye on your water readings.

As for tests, I did ALL of them.
nitrate, nitite, ph, amonia, ph, kh, calcium. phosphate. Salinity is at 1.024. Tank has been running for about 8 months.
I wont post the results, as I don't remember them, but they were all right on the money. I do all of my water changes, vacuuming, filter changes, religiously.
The reason I bought chromis is because I thought a school of them would look cool. After all, they are a schooling fish.
ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT THEY are killing each other????

More than likely. They are schooling fish and work well in groups of eight or more. They have a hierarchy system. One is the leader and the weakest one will be harassed and possibly killed. In smaller groups they often kill off the weakest, and then the next weakest, and so on. It doesn't always happen, but it is likely to.

THey all died, over the course of about a week.
You don't have much to move in there to get the dead bodies out if the clean up crew doesn't eat them. I wouldn't just let them rot. Very nice tank BTW.
