Dead Hermit crabs. Why?????

I purchased some bumblebee snails and a few hermit crabs this weekend. A few days later I caught my bumblebee eating one. KIt was out of its shell with its legs in the air.(the hermit crab not the snail :D ) Today I have scarlett legs on my substrate, only enough for one crab, and a blue hermit torn out of his shell. The scarlet was small and the blue leg hermit was probably as big as a penny. The first crab was tiny. The two scarletts were added this past weekend, but the blue leg has been in there since my tank has been set up. Are my bumblebees responsible or could it be that when I ran out of RO water this week and added tap water, I forgot to put treatment in, for evaporation I got a small amount of copper in there. I added conditioner to the water about thirty minutes after I added the unconditined water. I believe the first hermit crab casualty was before the "accident".

I found the supoosedsly dead blue-leg today, I guess he molted. My girlfreind showed me the exoskeloton abd the legs today right after I got home from work. Now I'm just worried abourt what happened to the two scarltets.
