my naso tang was dead this morning it was swimming 2 hours earlier i had him 8 months he was about 8inches he had no sighn of diseases or any marks on him he was just bent and breathing heavy Could it have been old age he was 5 inches when i got him i would say he looked about 3-4years old estimate though i really cant tell MYonly guess is that he might of got stung by my lionfish my levels are ammonia0 nitrite0 ph 8.3nitrate10-20 Ifanybody has any idea why this fish would sudanlly die for no reason i know its a shot in the dark but i would like to know why a fish would sudenlly die its the second one in 2 months the last was a porqupine puffer that was about 3 years

Short answer; it happens. I had a blueface angel do the same thing a year ago. Healthy, plump, eating, all parameters in check. Dead on the sand the next morning and I'd had him for over two years. Not always an explanation. It could have been your lionfish or simply a sudden death.

I wish I could give a definite answer, but all I can really offer is that I am sorry to have to hear that it happened. Was the fish laboring before he died?
