DEADLIEST CATCH

Don't know if anybody here is fans of this show or not but tonight is going to be the last episode with Captain Phil Harris alive. I guess he has passes on due to complications after the stroke that he had a couple of episodes ago. Kind of sucks, he was probably my favorite of all the Captains. The show's not going to be the same.

I dunno, without him riding herd on those two boys it could be quite interesting. Hard to feel sorry for the guy, he went out doing exactly what he wanted to do. He knew what was going to happen if he kept fishing, I'm sure he just hoped it wouldn't happen so soon.

He sure did and you can't ask for anything more than that. It will be interesting to see how his kids handle it. Hopefully, Jake will step up and get his s--t together. Still gonna miss him on the show.

I agree the show won't be the same. Andy. Jonathan, and Sig are my favorites now.

His kid is screwed up then. I still don't understand why they think Jake would be the right kid to take over the boat.

the older kid was on Jay Leno last night. The little bro went into rehab and has straightened things out for now. Phil smoked 9 1/2 packs of cigs a DAY !!!!!!! The boys and family (I guess) are trying to come up with $$$ to buy out a share of the boat. I didn't get it, considering Phil owned part of it, so I would think they would get his share??
I can't watch it yet, I saw part of it last night on Leno.....tough stuff.

wait until you see his hobby, it will blow your mind. I would love one. Amazing. I didn't see all of it yet, my son showed me that part.

If I heard right, a group called Cornelia has a major interest in the boat. I recall in the episode where they found Phil in his cabin, Jake said, "I need to call Cornelia and see what they want to do about going out again." They didn't show much of it, but they brought in another captain to finish up the remainder of that crab season.
The two boys will try their best to try and 'captain' the Cornelia Marie. Jake says they need to do some major renovations, and other investments. If things don't pan out, they'll be taken care of. Sig said he'd take Josh, and Andy and Johnathan would take Jake and essentially make them full shares of their crews.
I did notice the two boys were smoking those new 'fake cigarettes'. Guess seeing what the cigs did to their father, it was a REAL eye-opener.

9.5 packs, I wouldn't be surprised. From what I've read, (there are whole forums devoted to that show) phil didn't own the majority share of that boat. Some one else did.

It'll be interesting to see whose left for next season. Sig's brother has been hinting he wants to get out of the business, and Andy and Jonathan have been talking retirement, and handing their boat over to Mike.

I don't think Cornelia (a person, not a group) would be dumb enough to hand control of that boat over to those kids.
Josh seems to have a lot more potential than Jake at this point. Very impressive the way he dealt with this.

Yeah that won't happen. But just watching the show, which I'm sure is spliced and diced up pretty good. Josh would be my guy. I'm just trying to figure out why I love that show soo much.

I really like the show too! Probably because they're all "real" people working their butts off to make a living in such a dangerous job. It's a no BS right in your face kind of show! Kuddos to the cameramen also .. they're right there with them and do a great job! It's weird but after a while watching it, you almost feel like one of the crew.

I think if anything, I admire them. They're real men. Flaws and everything.

Here is the reason the show is so captivating.
Remember when athetes played through injuries cast and all?
Remember the blue collar steel workers?
Remember the construction worker and auto workers before the unions went nuts?
Remember seeing your fathers come home dirty and grundgy after a hard days labor and go back to work the next day, whether sick or not?
This show shows the human spirit, the human drive, the human determination, the family unit, all working towards one goal...survival. This shows the way Most Citizens in this country used to be. This show shows us our own weaknesses and amazes us because, deep down, we know....we don't have the cahones to do that job or even think of putting up with a work environment such as that.
That is why we are so captivated with the show....
