Finally added another 50lbs of sand to my tank rasing the bed to about 4-5 inches
Putting my total sand at 180lbs in my 90g.
I had been getting nitrogen bubbles with just 3-4 inches, but hopefully this will help continue my reduction in Nitrates. They went from 20-10 when I went from 1 inch to the 3-4. I also recently added some macro algae and my snowflake went to another tank, so I am expecting a big 0 in the next couple weeks.
I also bought some PVC and am making a small rack for my rock to sit on to get it out of the sand. So far so good, but a little cloudy and I have tubs of rock awaiting things to clear.
BTW the big 4inch couplers are GREAT to set rock on.... Makes a nice sturdy base for not so flat rock.
Anyway just wanted to share my success and thank everyone for their help and ideas.
