Deep Sand Bed

Finally added another 50lbs of sand to my tank rasing the bed to about 4-5 inches :D
Putting my total sand at 180lbs in my 90g.
I had been getting nitrogen bubbles with just 3-4 inches, but hopefully this will help continue my reduction in Nitrates. They went from 20-10 when I went from 1 inch to the 3-4. I also recently added some macro algae and my snowflake went to another tank, so I am expecting a big 0 in the next couple weeks. :)
I also bought some PVC and am making a small rack for my rock to sit on to get it out of the sand. So far so good, but a little cloudy and I have tubs of rock awaiting things to clear. :(
BTW the big 4inch couplers are GREAT to set rock on.... Makes a nice sturdy base for not so flat rock.
Anyway just wanted to share my success and thank everyone for their help and ideas.

Putting the LR back in would help clear the water faster since the pores of the rock will filter the water.
I locked the Hot Topic since you asked.

and make sure your pvc pipe is full of sand, as it will become a death trap to any hermits that you may or may not have...

Thanks guys, the rock is back in and the pipe has sand in it. Both things I had not thought of..... ;)
Thanks Burn for the lock, guess I should have requested earlier. :D
