just got a real nice piece, was wondering if i can stick it in the sandbed or does it have to be superglued to a piece of rock? thanks.

either way as long as you put it in a high flow area. it will pull from the sandbed though.

i have one and i just put the base end into a hole in my lr and it is sticking out into an area of good flow

I would probably try to secure it somewhere. Don't like the idea of just sticking it in the sand. It will have a tough time surviving if it continually falls out and gets kicked around.

thanks guys. i just went ahead and got some aquarium sealant and stuck it on a piece of live rock with that. seems to be working fine so far. no drooping limbs, and its out and feeding so it seems to be a good start.
