Degrading coral tongue.....

I noticed on the very end of the tongue there is a little bit of skeleton exposed. Its black and tissue receeding, and my shrimp keep picking at it. This started about 2 weeks ago and have been keeping a close eye on it's recovery. I have been directly feeding with meaty foods and dosing with DT's twice a week when lights are out. I added a small amount of iodine (read somewhere this helps). It doesn't seem to be getting better.....I will try and post a pic this weekend, is there anything else I can do to prevent his ultimate demise?

How long have you had it? What are your waters levels? What kind of shrimp were picking at it? Are there any corals near it that could have stung it? Answer these questions and that will be a start to finding the problem. Good luck.

just don't give up on small part messing up seems like it is doing better. IME i have a brain that started degrading and i gave it a sudden high saltinity change shock treatment to cure it and still have it after 2yrs. Not so many ppl know how to safe dying corals IMO, i posted asking help for dying colt and havn't had any reply a while back so just do which u think is best.
