Hey Everyone
I am having a really hard time keeping my Alk and Ca up. I used to dose kalk and that became a pain in the butt. Now I am adding Natureef Alk Plus on a daily basis....What a pain........
So from what I have heard is that the Deltec Reactors
are the best on the market????? I am looking at the PF601s that is rated for 660g for my 220g reef....
I have also been advised to go at least 3 times the size of the tank for the rated gallons of the reactor. Can anyone advise me or point me in the right direction as to any reactor that you use and have success with....

Thanks
efish :happyfish nsea

buttttttttttttttttttt i hav't used it becuse,
-$ To fill it up with Co2
-Time
-Not worth the time for me to get it going
becuse i don't have to many inverts
 I think thats it.
ANYWAY-
_how many inverts do you have, and is it worth the $?
_Have you tryed Kent's liqed calcium ?
If you have try it with out alik, BUT BE CARFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have any more Q's

The Alk has not been a problem untill the additions of quite a few stoneys and various sps corals. I'm sure the load on the system is causing this problem
. The kalk drip worked fine but to be honest but is it a lot of extra work. I have seen a few tanks with reactors and have been told once they are dialed in it becomes a maintanance free system with awesome results.

Yes, That is sooooooome what correct-
My tank right now is self contaning on most all things. But
Calcium, Ph, and Nitrat ually needs care most all of the time.
Time is the key, and dont frek out :scared: !!! fish and inverts can take
a lot. :happyfish

I am with you. I also need a calcium reactor and I was looking at the Deltec but I couldn't explain the high price on them. But if it's worth it it will be my Xmas present.

From what I have heard and seen they use very high end components
. I think that is necessary for something that is going to be apart of my tank for a while. My LFS has a few Deltecs' on their tanks and swears by them....Mabey some one will fill us in  ????????

Yes i do have one! mine, I think is a eheim I THINK.
I don't use it tho, becuse I dont have too many inverts to get it runing.
I got mine at a garage sale. Dont be fouled tho becuse that might
be your best bet for you guys out there that lives on tight cash.
I have never herd of a "Deltec"? And what other options do you have
anyway? How much mony are you willing to spend?
You have to buy
-regulater
-co2 tank
-CR
-And a lot more........Ask your self...... Is it worth it?

james-
any serious reefer with sps has a calcium reactor. i have tried a few sps in my tank and the all died. after seeing tanks and talking to other people with serious reef tanks, the only conclusion is to have a calcium reactor. sps's will suck the calcium out of the water faster than you can add it. you will need a constant influx of usable calcium for them to thrive.
unfortuantely i can't give you any information on brands. but i can assure you that you will need one if you want to keep sps for more than a few weeks.
jeff.
btw- do you have anything else you want to frag???
