Ok, so I had to move some rocks around in my tank (another story) and I thought I was pretty careful... but I guess maybe one of my dendros may have gotten damaged but this doesnt make sense...
Look at the first pic... see where the skin/yellow is receding around where the babies are?

Ok now, This was taken like 4 days ago on the same coral (other side of the polyp) but COME ON how can this happen in like less than a week? Heres the 'before' pic

Is it normal for the membrane to receed by the babies? I dont think so? Would it do that because of trauma? it cant be due to malnutrition...I feed them like crazy!
Heres the other dendro in the tank
.. they get fed together daily.. you can see he is pretty happy.. I just took this pic 2 min ago for comparison..

What can I do... if anything... to save my coral?
See how his polyps arent even extended in the first pic up there.. and the skin is receded... Im worried!!

Really nothing you can do except keep your water as close to perfect as possible. Dont give up on him though, i had a candy cane frag with its "stem" wedged in a hole til i got some glue and it fell in. The whole rock is hollow so it took forever to get it out. When i did it was dead the skeleton was completely white. I left it in the tank,( still notsure why) and within a weak i noticed alittle pink spot on the skeleton. A month later (now) hes almost good as new, He still hasn't grwon his green center back yet. Your dendro probably just got bumped and is taking a few days off to recover.

dendrophyllia are nonphotosynthetic.(im sure you know that).. so lighting is irrelevant (unless I was frying them- but Im not, Ive had them since May- and they were under even brighter lighting at one point than they are now)
the side of the large (mother) polyp is showing some skeleton today.. and shes not extending her polyps, just kind of hanging there. I fed the baby polyps around the base and all but one seem healthy. Im just going to keep feeding as normal and not move the coral. I mean, it doesnt look diseased or anything I just think it was bumped pretty hard or fell.
This sucks!

Yaaa thats what I was thinking if they were under intense lighting. But they are not, soooo there goes that theory, LOL. Good luck and I hope they recover.
