Diatom Bloom

Quick question: Can a diatom bloom kill a newly introdued fish?
Cycled my new FOWLR tank for about 6 weeks and also added a colonizing bacteria to get it started. Then introduced a clown fish. 3 days later started to see the diatom bloom. I think it was because my light timer was not set correctly and may have been on for up to 48 hours. Corrected that problem but my clown died after only 10 days. It never really ate well to begin with.

Good Morning---I've never heard of a diatom outbreak directly killing a fish--it's usually a result of too much nutrient in the tank and goes away when the nutrient is used up---long lighting periods seem to aggravate the situation--that being said, since your fish was not eating well to begin with I would look elsewhere for the cause.
I would assume that all your parameters are in line?
