Sorry no pic, but usually add freshwater for evaporation, but check your level.

will it hurt your tank to use saltwater to top off, will that make the salinity shoot way up? If so, what can I do to decrease it, my husband topped it off with saltwater. Do I need to panic??

Check your level.....if its high, you could take out some water and add fresh to bring it down. One warning, make sure temps are same/ close. Good luck.

The water was put in about 1 hour ago, when should I test, rightnow, or does it take awile to mix all together? Will this kill my inhabitants right away? (FIsh and inverts) 1 mushroom frag)

I think it takes 24 hrs to totally disolve, could be wrong, Id check it now and again tomorrow. When was the water made up? How big is your tank? If its small, you could have troubles... but I think you'll be ok since you only added a small amount of water.....right?

I think youll be ok, but check level. I would check now, just for piece of mind, and again in the morning.

I would watch the inverts and especially if you have shrimp. they don't like large changes in salinity. The much salt water added as top off could cause osmotic shock on some inhabitants. Always top off with fresh RO water and never wever with salt water.
