I am having trouble with brown green algae blooms. I do water changes with RO water, every time I do a water change and clean the substr the algae is right back within hours. This tank was an upgrade from a 39 gal and is about 7-8 weeks old. I have a 55 gal fowlr, an emporer filter (no bio-wheels), a skilter and 2 power heads for movement. Inhabits are cleaner shrimp, clean up crew, 2 clowns, 6 line flame hawk and a pink spot goby. Lighting is a 40 watt actinic blue and a 48 in smart light. Am I just being impatient or is there something I can do to get rid of it.
