Hello I new here and have a qustion about dictyota about a month ago I took down my tank because I had a bad outbreak of bubble algea and dictyota I took all my rock out and soaked them in murinc acid to kill everything on it replaced all my sand .pretty much started over but I had taken out all my corals I had during this time, well now I am starting to notice the dictyota is stating to come back. and I want to get rid of it before it takes over again. This stuff spreads like wild fire. I was told that a foxface would eat the stuff and was wondering what everyones thougts were on this.
My tank is a 75 gallon I am using ro/di water,have a good skimmer 20gallon sump.
Thanks for your time

I dont have a picture avalible as I have picked most of it off the rocks,I have also read that in order to have you must have good water and it is ok but it spreads like wild fire and looks very bad after about 3-4 weeks.

The only way that I can see you getting rid of the roots is to take the rocks out and let them dry up. ( the sun is great for this) This will of course make them dead, but will bounce back to live if some of the rocks are unaffected by the algae, and help to reseed the dead rock.
