Did/ does your drawf angel pick at your corals?

I had a pygmy angel in a reef tank. The only coral he picked at was a red gorgonian. I'm not sure why but he kept going back to pick at it at least a few times a day. I never saw any damage. All other corals were left alone including the orange gorgonian next to him, trachyphilia, euphylia, bubble, goniopra, leather, mushrooms, xenia. Good luck!

I had a flame angel and he/she never picked at any coral in the tank. I decided to trade him/her in because I wanted to get several types of clams and didn't want to tempt fate. If you didn't know they are notorious for picking at clams also. It broke my heart to trade him in. Also all the other fish are out more because the Angel was semi-aggressive towards them.

Yes
Flame and a Rusty Pygmy both aquired the taste for corals after over 1 year of good behavior.

I have always heard that angels and tangs will pick at some corals. I had a yellow tang and he left my polyps and hairy mushroom alone but he loved red algae. He died when my power went out, now I have a purple gorgonia and I would love to have either a bicolor or coral beauty angel but I have heard they will tear it to pieces.

we've had the coral beauty w/ our purple gorgonian for 3 months or more; he never went after it or any other coral;he seemed to prefer to keep his fat belly filled w/ flakes & frozen brine shrimp

Is there anything you can do to stop you flame from eating your corals or do you just have to get rid of it?

I had a Coral beauty clear out my xenia. I tradedd him in. I bought a Flame Angel and he hasn't bothered anything. :D

i've had both a flame and a coral beauty both of which never messed with any of my corals or polyps. with dwarf angels a coral beauty is probably going to be the least likely to pick at corals but all fish have their own personalities so you just have to take a risk and just watch the fish closely when you introduce him into your tank.
