Did I get my skimmer right?

Just picked up a Remora aquaC protein skimmer today. Was told I could set it up with my wet/dry. So I did.
Did I do it correctly? It seems to be working accordingly, I have some foam coming up but not spilling over yet?
Other issue is it now sounds like a freakin waterfall in my living room. How do I fix that?
Here are some pics.
Any advice would be great.

It sounds like it needs tuning... IMO, it shouldn't fill up overnight unless you have a very dirty tank. Is the skimmate light green and watery? It needs to be turned down until it slowly produces a thick, dark green or brown skimmate. New skimmers take awhile to break in and frequent adjustments might be necessary.
Don't really know how to fix the noise. I have never used one of those skimmers.
