well due to some aquascaping that i did today, i had to remove my xenia from a rock. so i cut it off from the rock at the base. right now i placed it in a low flow zone on the sand bed, will it recover from this or did i just kill it? and for anyone who has ever fragged xenia, have you ever noticed the smell they give off? this is the first time i have fragged xenia so it kinda caught me by surprise.

im sure you didnt kill it,almost impossible to. i usually use a rubber band and secure the frag to a small rock. as far as the smell goes, well they just plain stink!

Yes the smwll really really bad, and dosent wash off easy. I dont really think you can kill that stuff. Mine melted in my 150 gal tank, I had moved a few small pices of rock to my smaller tank, and I just found on that had very tiny xenia growing on it. Yah I thought I had lost it all.

You are most likely going to end up with 2 colonies now since the base that you left on the rock should grow back.
