Did i KILL a GSP...

I bought a green star polyp coral and a colony of orange zoo's both from a local reefer they both looked great in his tank. In my tank the zoo's are doing awesome even look like they have grown
. But the GSP have stayed closed 1 or 2 polyps have opened for a short time but closed back up now i have a devil's hand leather about 3 inches away would that have anythying to with them staying closed. He had them in a 90gal with about 200watts of CF light i have 108watt t-5 on a 48gal.
Is ther anything i can do???????

I had a nice size peice of GSP stay closed for about a month and a half before they opened..Just give it time..

as previously stated...just give it time...this is typical of GSP...

Ok, I have had it in there for about 2 weeks. I'll try more flow. Also my dkh is at 11 and my PH is 8.5 are they to high?????

A bit high but not too bad.
As to the GSP just give them a fast flow for a while. point a PH at them if need be. Some of my weeds close for no reason known to me for a week or so at a time. They just do this time to time.......

Yes, just give them time and remember this thread in about 6 months when they start taking the entire tank over and you post in a new thread, 'How do I get rid of these GSP?'

i had the exact same problem ...stayed shut for about a month...ask on here they said give it time...and a couple days ago it is when i first saw it...nice and full

I had no idea this was so common. I got a small frag for free and it never opened. I figured it died from the stress of the 2 hours drive home from the frag farm.
Then 2 weeks ago I lift up a piece of fallen LR and to my suprise, a 1"x2" patch of GSP is flourishing.
SO while I cant offer any answers, I will just add that what everyone has said was definately true in my tank.
