Did I make a bad purchase?

I just accidentally won a 24 gallon Tenecor Acrylic Aquarium on ----. Its local so shipping isnt a factor. Its got 2 overflows built in and a mini sump system built in. All the sponges, media, and bio balls are still in the bag. This tank at my lfs was listed at 999.00 with stand. This one does not have the stand. Flourescent lighting. I paid 182.50... good or bad deal?

sounds ok to me. if you don't want try and sell it to the LFS.

may do that... I just dont really want to put that much into it right now... trying to save up for a big one. We have a local newspaper thats free to list things like that, like 60 pages.. .its probably going in there for 250

check your lfs, you may get more for it there.

any idea what this thing is worth? All the media still in bag, tank itself has been used for freshwater only for a short time.

if your lfs say its worth 999 with a stand, find out what he would take for it without a stand. tanks are usually more expensive that stands, note i said usually.

1000$ seems kinda of expensive for that size tank even with a stand. If they think its worth that much try to sell it back to the lfs.

I have to agree $1000 is alittle steep I only paid $399 for my 100 gallon with stand.

i got my 55 gal for $55...LFS has a yearly sale $1 per gallon.....plus tax

Tenecor tanks are always that expensive, go to their website I don't know how anyone can afford those tanks.

Before you sell the tank, what about setting it up as a quarantine tank?

If you can make money on the tank I'd sell it. A $10 10 gallon tank, a powerhead, and a cheap sponge filter will work fine as a quarantine.
