Did I make a mistake buying a Red Coris Wrasse??

I really like this fish but the lady where I got it said it was reef safe and when I got home and looked it up in my book it says Not Recommended. It says they are an opportunistic predator and will eat snails, mollusks, hermit crabs, crabs, shrimps, and sea urchins. Now I like to think I can trust this lady but I have a few of these items and when we bought this cute baby fish we also got an eletric flame scallop. So I am wondering if this guy is gonna be ok if we keep him well fed. And what do they really like to eat besides brine shrimp and our live critters??

Well, she sold you two things she should not have, since the flame scallop is incredibly difficult to keep. Make sure you feed the scallop every day.
The coris will eat your clean-up crew as he grows.
Otherwise, they eat prawn, clam, krill, mysis shrimp, and zooplankton.

as long as it's a juvi. (red with the white and black saddles on its back) its probably too small to eat anything but the smallest inverts. So it might kill any little blue or red legged hermits you have, but it's not gonna take down a cleaner shrimp thats as big as it is or bigger. Thats just common sense. However, they get pretty big, probably like 8 inches in an aquarium, and once it's that size, al your crabs are royally screwed. I'de keep it and let it change, and let it get into a nice adult (cause they're in my opinion the coolest looking fish in the business) and when it gets to where you see it taking shots at your stuff, trade it in for credit at a LFS. The adults are worth considerably more than the babies. So technically you could make money off of it...if the store has a decent trade-in-credit-policy. If not, you may as well take it back now and avoid the headache in the future.
