Did I mess up my water change?

Okay so I mixed up some water (like 4 gallons). The pump I had aerating it was hanging from the rim of the orange bucket. Anyways, long story short, I think the pump ran a little dry. IT was still pumping the water, but I would say it was like half exposed to the air.
I added all this water to my 10 gal QT tank to bring the water level up. I dont have anything living in the tank, I am still trying to set it up and cycle it. Did a blow it? SHould I do a water change on the QT?

i dont see how thats gonna mess up a water change.
HAHA the only way i can see that would call a water change a failure is if you miss the tank totally and dump it on the floor.

The only thing going to ruin is going to be the pump running dry, the water will be fine if it has bubbles in it.

I was just wondering if the pump running dry would leach chemicals into the water or anything?

Where would the chemicals come from??? The only thing that will mess up is your pump if you leave it out too long. But a short period will be ok.
