They are notorious for oil leaks at the back of the engine, and the oil does not leak or weep it pours out. I had a 87 6.9L and the oil leak thing was a problem that just never seemed to go away or stay fixed for long. Of course it was way ahead of the GMC diesel I had previously. Dura Max best darned diesel yet.

ya i was going to get the 7.3 but the guy sold it. now im looking at this one.
u really thing the duramax is the best?!! my dad bought one even though he didnt like chevy but he heard it was the best, but we sold it a week later because it was gutless. so we stuck w/ our '96 powerstroke. i have always been a diesel fanatic just havent bought one my self and now i am. i would prefer a 7.3 but i cant find a good one. well i did until the guy sold it. it was an '87 7.3l w/ ats turbo and a rebuilt motor, 36" tires 4" lift and 4" body lift and dana 60 axels, lariat the whole 9 yards....i was pissed when he sold it because i had the money and told him to hold it. i was going to go up the next day....it was only $3000

I think the cummins is the best diesel (not in the best truck however). I have an 02 7.3L and i love it, plenty of power no problems with it at all.

Do you all like the 6.5 litre turbo diesel in a Chevy suburban? We were looking to buy and wanted an opinion.
