Difference between Maracyn2 and Malachite green?

Whats the difference between these two? What are each of them used to treat? I've used maracyn2 but not malachite green.

I've used both, and Maracin2 works for alot of things, and malechite green is mostly for ick and parasites. They both are excellent.

malachite green is a treatment for parasites but used primarily for FRESH water aquaria! Don't use this in the marine hobby...Unless you like green water and the silcone seals, etc in your tank to turn blue-green. It really is an old style treatment. There are much better meds out there to use, especially for the marine hobby.
M2 is a broad-spectrium antibotic used in the treatment of fish [it is sold / packaged for fresh as well as marine fish]. Maracyn and M2 treat bacterial infections [pretty good to in my opinion] supposedly with minimum negetive effects on your system.
keep in mind that bacterial infections are very hard to treat, so nothing you use for this is going to be 100%.
