Differences in Pumps

My question is I see a lot of pumps out there. Example is I have a ViaAqua 2300 as my return pump and then a ViaAqua 8000 on a closed loop external pump. Then I see these nice external Dart pumps and others for twice the price and less flow. What am I overseeing? I know its something other than quality. Im just wondering if its something I need to invest in??

when it comes to pumps you get what you pay for, ( wattage used, seal materiel, can you have the motor rewound variable head and gph configurations )

I have a Dart pump and compared to other pumps, I would never purchase any other brand out there at this time.
Its not to expensive comparatively, its quiet, powerful, efficient and the quality is superb.
I give it a A+
I agree,"You get what you pay for"

Its just that my closed loop pump is rated at 2200gph. $80. I see these Darts rated same but twice the price. My ViaAqua 8000 is quite and only problem I had was the ceramic shaft broke once but I fixed it. I just wanted to see if my next investment should be on a pump or something else. Seems like it might be something else
