I am searching for a digital camera. I am looking in the 700 and below price range. I want to start a new thread and this has nothing to do with what I want. I just want to see what kind of camera everybody uses. Can you post your best picture taken with your digital camera and post which camera you are using. Thanks alot....

First of all, check out www.dpreview.com it has a ton of very in depth reviews and several sample pics.
With that said, I use an Olympus 4000C it cost me 500 new but I think it may have dropped in price since then. I have taken so many pics with it I can't post a best one. But if check out my webshots album you will find tons of different types of pics, all of which were taken with the Olympus.

I have the G3 and when I zoom in, the pics get distorted. (I take a lot of baseball game photos - they are never clear.)
maybe I just don't know how to take a good digi pic. I'm good with a film camera though.

You probably are using digital zoom which is a useless feature. You need to use only optical zoom. Digital zoom simply increases the size of the pixels and therefore looks distorted.

I don't use a fancy camera...little Nikon 2100 (2.1 mp) is all I have.
I got mine for $199.
However, I have seen some great prices on cameras of varying levels at www.ecost.com . Shipping is cheap, too--sometimes free.

To me, the better cameras (3 megapixel & up) take crisper pics, but their color seems "off" to me. Every photo I've seen out of my mother's Sony ???-707 (can't remember the model number, but it's 5 mega-pixel and is silver) looks like a picture on a TV were the saturation and color knobs have been bumped up.
We took pictures when we looked for morels in March. I have an OLD Sony 1.3 mega pixel camera. Although her pictures were BETTER and more crisp - but the pics looked like they were from some movie set.
I think that the GOOD cameras take pics that look better than what WE SEE. Is that possible?

I use a Mavica FD95. It is 2.1 megapixels with 20x digital zoom. This is a shot of the moon with full zoom on Halloween night. I could not see any detail on the moon with my

eyes. I was just testing out my camera. I was surprised at how this picture turned out.

Why is the reply box so small?
anyway. I have a Gateway DC-M40 4.1 mp.
I dont have a best pic yet, b/c I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. The best pic's so far were of my car, but I deleted the pic's when I sold the car.
