Digital or SLR 35mm?

Whenever I have posted pictures before I used a digital camera to take the pictures. For Christmas I am getting a really nice professional SLR 35mm camera, a Minolta Maxxum 70 QD with 2 macro lens (28-100 mm and 70-300mm). Has anyone used a camera like that to take pictures of their aquarium? Which do you prefer (concidering you have experience with both, and I am not talking about just any 35mm cameras)?
Just curious since the week between Christmas and New Year's I will most likely use at least 10 rolls of film...

Why not go with a Digital SLR? Best of both worlds...lol I have a pair of the Digital Rebels, sorry I'm a wedding photographer on the side.

I usee both. I am a 35mm old timer who refuses to give it up. I love them. BUT digital is great for the aquarium because you can delete your bad ones. I take both my digital and 35mm that has a 28-300 lens on it.
Aren't the digital SLR's still pretty pricey?

$0 development costs, quicker turn-around on photos, easier to proof and do corrections, instant preview to see if someone blinked or made a weird face. honestly I could probably go on all day...lol :D

I already have digital and love it for those reasons. Just wondering about the digital SLR. :) I have a Cannon G3 and love it. But miss my 35mm too.

I haven't used my 35mm since getting the DSLR's. What I love about the DSLR's is that you get the flexibility of using multiple lenses and still have the digital benifits. You can change your iso settings on the fly as well as white balance and exposure compensations. The only draw back is that the DSLR's tend to underexpose to keep from blowing out highlights. They also have a narrow exposure, similar to slide film.
