Digitate hydroid?!

I have a 5 gal AGA pico/nano tank and just found out the "white hair thing" on one of my rocks is a digitate hydroid. I only see 1 in the tank, should I worry about it, and if so how do i remove it. I've read they are bad, but then again I've read a few places that bristle worms were bad too.
To help confirm, it looks like a white hair with a little ball at the end and little balls all down the sides.

I have about thirt of these guys in my tank and they've never harmed anything. I only really see them when I feed my fish. Are they bad, should I get rid of mine too?
