Anyone have any advice about him as a sand-sifter
I have a 55 gal with a lawn-mower blenny, royal gramma, 2 green chromis, a black domino damsal and a yellow tail blue damsal.
I have 100# LR and after this weekend 100# LS - well 80 # not live and 20# live
Thanks!!

sweet! i have one and he is awsome! not in my reef though. if you have a reef it might not be the best idea because they have been known to dump sand on any corals near the bottom, eventualy killing them. Mine has a lot of personality and happens to rule. (his name is osama bin ladin cause he digs caves and hides in them)
the dead sand will eventualy become live. but that sounds like a good number too. about 2 pounds per gallon. how deep is the bed? i should think that would be okay.

I do have a reef...
I am not sure how deep the sand is going to be yet - I am just putting it in this weekend (I am kicking out that terrible CC base) I think about 4"
I guess I will have to look for another critter... any suggestions?
I don't want the DG to kill my corals...
Thanks!!

I don't think he'll kill the corals I had one for about 2 months with coral and they were fine. You just need to dust off your rock once ina while. I lost mine because he thought he could fly. Get a nice secure lid with NO OPENINGS!!!!

not all will dump sand on corals. and the above post is right, as long as you are ontop of clearing the sand off, you would be fine.

They keep your sand pretty clean, but they are notorious jumpers. I've had three Diamond Gobies and all of them have jump out of my tank, even with a lid and hood on my tank. There was only a one inch opening in the lid and all three of them decided to check the out the outside world and jump to their death (R.I.P). I gave up on them due to that reason. But aside from that they were pretty personable fish. :happyfish
