Dipping corals and zoos

I going to get some zoos soon and was wondering what kind of pretreatment ya'll use before placing it in your tank. I have heard of flatworm exit, and diping in freshwater, but I have no idea of the specifics of how to do these dips and which ones work the best for removing hitch hikers from corals and zoos. Thanks for ya'lls help.

when i got my kenya trees i just acclimated and they and the tank were fine. but i'm not sure if saltwater dipping is good for the coral, is what i heard. probably check your lfs for any chemicals

Not drip... dip. I do a freshwater dip on my zoas. I just put them in a tupperware with RO water for about 1 minute.

I do 40 drops of Lugols into a gallon of salt water and let coral sit for 15 minutes. I think that is what is on the lugols container. I have seen some pretty aweful things come off of new corals. I started doing this after I got micro monti eating nudis once.

We quarantine all our SPS in Interceptor for 6 hours when we receive them and then place them in the holding tanks for sale. Every now and then if it is just one piece that comes in from a customer, we either treat with TECH D, or use Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure. With all treatments remove the inverts from the coral and ONLY with TECH D, is it okay with MOST softies. However, we dont treat those the same way. We usually just fresh dip them for a few minutes.

It's good to see you treat with interceptor for redbugs before selling to your customer! What do you do to treat for flatworms and monti eating nudis?

Thats what the Pro Coral Cure is for. Or we just Fresh water dip after removing the crab.

I have done it on zoas, frogspawn, monti and digitata. Nothing has died from it. I Didn't have guts enough to do it on 20 Rics I got, but I quarantined those for a week and visually inspected.
