yea straight ro..its a good way to get those pesky nudis or spiders off there if there is any. I usually do it for about 5-10min then a good shake before I put in the tank

if it's sps you should do an iodine dip to rid it of any pest or unwanted hitchhikers.....atleast 5 min....make a bowl of saltwater a dark tea color in one bowl and a bowl of saltwater to rinse....this is how i dip mine and it has worked wonders for me....good luck

You should always use lugols to dip coral...or an actual coral dip. I also add Flatworm Exit. Some RO or Seltzer water is great for Zoa's...make sure to inspect as dipping will not nudi eggs, and zoa spiders often will survive dips

I always use SeaChem's Coral dip.
I ran a test between 3 different coral dips and SeaChem's came out to be BY FAR the strongest, killing all pests on the rock, whereas, Kent did not.

Yes. I have not found any coral it negatively effected. I have used it on mushrooms, leathers, LPS, and acro's and none were affected adversely.
Like you said, you do not want flat worms, red bugs, and other nasty hitch-hikers that come in on live rock.
