Direct from the Ocean - into the tank?

Just a technical question for which I need some feedback....
Yesterday, my daughter and I found a few sea snails and many tightly closed shells (clams, I presume), that had washed ashore during low-tide in the morning.
She wanted to bring each home for the Salt Tank. I couldn't think of any reason 2 sea snails would not survive in the tank, but as for the clam, I am only going to leave it in for a day or two since there will not be enough plankton to filter/feed on. We'll need to return it to the shoreline soon.
The two snails are already buzzing around the tank - meanwhiloe, the clam has opened a fraction of an inch and has stuck a portion of its soft-tissued body out of its shell. Some of the fish may start nibbling??....I'll watch it closely.
ANY reason these snails would be bad for the stability of the tank?
The tank is a community tank with 6-7 fish, inverts, and live rock.
Cinammon clown, Lemon Peel, Purple Pseudochromis, Valenitni Puffer, 2 damsels, a brittle star, and a General star.
Opinions on the 2 snails and clam?
