Is it normal for a purple carpet to periodically remove itself from the light, relocate to the underside of a rock, stay there for two days, and then move back to it's original spot atop the rock pile? If it was an isolated event I wouldn't focus on it but mine has done this three times. I thought it curious because:
1. I had thought carpets were generally resistant to moving
2. Why leave the light for a dark (relatively) one
3. The water movement is, I'm pretty sure, much reduced under the rock.
The only link I can provide to the three events is that they all occurred on snowflake feeding days and on two of the three occasions I witnessed the female Clarkii grab large krill to give to the anemone.
My LFS guy jokingly opined that maybe the carpet removed itself to process a dump away from its normal home, but maybe this isn't so far fetched?
