Disappointed in new retro kits

I just recieved my new lights, which consist of an Ice cap Ballast, a reflector, and socket along with a bulb. Well the also sent a female adaptor. I thought this was a plug and play, and now I have to cut the female end off the ballast and wire the adaptor. I sure wish they had put this info on the web site I bought them from. I hate the idea of cutting the cord on a brand new ballast.
Why didnt they send or offer a replacement cord that would fit the Ice cap

They are, thats why I am disappointed. They dont plug into the ballast. They want me to cut the plug off the ballast and use the adaptor they sent. I would rather cut the sunlight plug off and replace it with the male Ice cap plug posted above.
Would that work.

Yeah, As long as they match it will be fine..
Funny story about plugs..
So I went to buy some new bulbs (Radium 20k's) I ended up leaving the LFS with 2 Lumenmax Elite fixtures and the 2 Radium's.
I get home and have to cut the plugs off the LME reflectors to wire to my old ballast I had. About 2 hours into being on, the left side cut off.. OK..I swapped the cords(dual 250 ballast) well about 2 hours later the right side cut off.. So I figured out the ballast was going bad..
I picked up a Blue Wave 7 (monster ballast.. 50+lbs) from a buddy.. Got it.. I'll b damned if I didnt cut the plugs off too close so I couldnt get a good splice when I went to rewire the plugs to match the new ballast.. I ended up paying $10 each for 2 plugs with enough wire to reattach the very same plugs I had cut off 2 days before..

I got retrofit from Hammilton, everyting pluged in like it should. It even came with 10K bulbs. I don't think I would go cutting on it, I would send it back.

anytime you have different brand ballast and corded reflectors you have to cut and wire (its only 3 wires, no big deal). this is only a problem if they said it was plug and play. Never assume it. the easiest way to avoid that is buy the components seperately ex sunlight supply galaxy ballast + sunlight supply reef optix 2 batwing = plug n play retro, coralvue sells plug and play retro's. online retailer selling ice cap ballast + option 1, 2 or 3 reflector + option 1,2,3 and 4 bulb shouldn't be assumed to be plug and play unless they say it is.

this didnt have options 1,2,3 it was listed as a retro kit, ballast, reflector, socket and bulb. You would think you could just plug it together. Now I have to buy a male replacement plug for Ice cap. I could also just buy the male plug with cord and replace that on the socket.
More time wasted.
