OMG I'm never listening to the lady from the lfs again!!!!! ok heres what happened i have an established 55g with 2 clowns 2 damsels (wich i used to cycle and i know i know sorry thats what i get for listening to the lfs lady) a banded coral shrimp and a baby snowflake eel hes only 4 inches well i order 20lbs of figi from here and it arrives they did an excellent job of packing it and i got in in 2 days didnt stink or anything i scrubbed it down and placed it directly into my display tank now here the fun part it turned my water real cloudy and brown so i cranked up my emperor to full blast and got most of the debris out of the water then started noticing some grey mold growing on the rocks so i got on the forum and asked around someone finally helped and told me to remove the rock asap so when i got home from work last night i pulled the rock out scrubbed it down again (it was gross there was so much die off it turned the water a murky brown and there was chunks of stuff in the bottom when i dumped the bucket) set up a 10 gallon to cure it in and placed it in there now funny thing is when i wake up in the morning to turn my lights on i notice my baby snowflake swimming around in the 10 gallon so i bait him out wich was fun hes only 4 inches and can wind his way thru anything but i have him trained good on eating so i pulled a piece of shrimp out and he came up to get it so i scooped him up in a plastic bag i put him back into my display tank my question is did i do everything right? i did a 6 gallon water change on my display tank now here is another thing i notice lots of im guessin die off layin on my sand is it gonna be harmful? and how do i remove it? plannin on gettin a clean up crew in the near future should i go ahead and get it now?
WISH I WOULD OF FOUND THIS FORUM SOONER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to take tests and find out your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels. That will let you know how damaging the live rock die off was. I wouldn't bother putting in a clean up crew until you know the water levels are safe. If you do gte an ammonia spike, try using Amquel+.

yea, would watch the levels for a few days, if theres no ammonia or nitrites/ nitrates present, then i would go ahead and get a small clean up crew. if this debris at the bottom of the tank is big enough, try scooping it out with a net.
