Thursday I put 2 hippo tangs in my tank. They seeam to be doing fine and seem very happy. TOday i noticed one of them had small white dots all over its face and around its face. I have read that these fish are prone to disease, and Im new at this so I dont even know what ick looks like. How do I know if these fish are diseased? And wouldnt they have had to catch it from something?

I am new to saltwater fish keeping. This is my first tank. I know someone who runs a LFS and he has helped me get started. Right now I have a 92 gallon tank with about 100lbs of rock (its not live rock, its just rock). I have a crushed coral and dolomite base (about 40lbs crushed coral and 15lbs dolomite roughly). For filtration I have a filter that hooks on the back of the tank its not one of the ones that sits on the floor. It filters 600gph. I keep my tank at 78 degrees farenheit with a specific gravity of 1.019. (I was told to keep it this low to minimize the stress on the fish). I have 3 percula clown fish, 2 hippo tangs, 1 red reef crab, 1 coral banded shrimp, and a few algae hermits. The tank has been up and running for about 2 months now.
