Diseased Starfish?

Hi, I've noticed lately that my African Red Knob star as begun to grow rusty colored spots on him... Does anybody know what this means?

Can you post specific water quality especially nitrates, pH, alkalinity and specific gravity?
What do you feed it? How often?
