hi!
i just read the thread puffer daddy posted about a spike in his nitrite, amonia etc. the replier asked whether or not he had disturbed his substrate. i have a 75 gal bow,fo with about 40 lbs of rock, just starting to show life,my tank has been up for 2mths, i used cc (1") for a base,a skilter 400 and a aquatech 300 filter with 2 maxijet 900 for flow, i have a tomato clown and a blue damsel in for 3 weeks now and just added a 4"yellow tang 1 week ago, all seem to be doing fine. last night i "fluffed up" the bottom of the tank to get rid of the brown diatoms that had collected but now after reading his thread im wondering if i just screwed something up? i did an amonia test today,0, nitrite 0, and nitrate 10, alkalinity was 300, ph 8.2 and i keep the temp @ 78. sg is 1.022.
please let me know if i should not disturb the bottom surface... thanks
