just finished mine, 110 tall. I kept it low, 4inch and sits on top only. I use black cloth electrical tape to extend 1 inch below the black tank trim to hide the waterline. Never cared for the huge hat tops. I put a fan in L. rear corner, I use 4 4ft VHO mounted close to front. 2 other bulbs in rear center for moon, dawn/dusk. I chose to have the entire ft fold up and the front 2/3 with lights fold back. It gives me easy access for feeding and to reach things. I have all the electrical end in r. rear with male plugs so if I want to remove hood, I don't get that on a leash feeling and can set it down anywhere. I put handles on both sides and front, built it out of baltic birch plywood and kept it light enough to handle solo. The icecap 660 balast is mounted in L. rear exterior. I drilled 6 vent holes in rear across back. Recently I have seen some that slide a foot to front or rear with a small feed door on top, think I would go that way second time around.
If you think doubling your efforts can compensate for lack of skill, there is no end to what you can't do.
