DIY chamber question (Acrylic connect to glass)

Hello,
Building a DIY sump. I see that acrylic seem to be easy to work with such as cutting, available tools to work on it and etc.
My question: Is it safe to apply aquarium silcone on the acrylic when installing the chamber wall between the glass tank? Will acrylic be senstivity to aquarium silcone and cause any side-effect?

Should be fine. I have seen many people do this and never heard of any problems.

i just did it in the last few weeks and i am very happy with it

I have done it also. Installed 2 baffles in a 10g. I scuffed the edges of the acrylic to make the silicon seal to it a little better.
