diy kalk stirrer

hi all D.I.Y ers
im looking for gasket material for top 2 part flange for my diy
kalk stirrer anybody have any idea what to use and where to get it ?

Lowes in the plumbing section. They have a red 6X6 in rubber mat. Two different thicknesses. In my Lowes it's near the JQ stuff.

is it soft neoprene? thats what i think im looking for! aprox. 1/8 -1/4 thick
i was also thinking of cutting a groove for a "O" -ring
but dont have router to do that and dont know any other way

Try an automotive parts store many carry bulk gasket material and if they do they will probably have neoprene or something similar.

Also have you thought about cutting up a tire tube? I have used them successfully in the past to seal inspection ports on large Hydraulic tanks. Make sure you wash the powder off not sure what that would do if it came in contact with your tank but better to be on the safe side.

i need thicker than a tire tube so
i will be hitting auto parts stores tommorow .
does anybody know how to make a groove
in plexyglass for a "o" ring without a router?

I don't think you can unless you could cut two plexy rings and then cement them to another piece of plexy.
