if you use a glass tank you have to use glass sheets for dividers. silicone doesn't stick to acrylic. so if you are going to use your tank use glass sheets in it. :happyfish
I've used acrylic in a glass sump with no problems. You just have to score the edges with rough sandpaper before sealing with silicone. I used the type meant for aquariums. Seems to be a little stronger than the 100% silicone and gave a better end result.
