i have a 50 gal hex i want to convert. the prob. is the same ... the sump.. there is not much room under the stand. my thought was an over the back flow and a boxed sump that they sell at the local store here. still not much room to clean out and do maintenance. im stuck too! i have a 5 gal nano 6 weeks now and already want more space.

Not trying to be rude but you might get more reponces to you post if you post it in the equipment and diy forum. People in that forum have a lot of knowledge and can help you better. I look there myself to get ideas on how to increase the space in my tank stand for a large sump/fuge without sacrificing (sp?) the stands ability to support the weight of my tank evenly. Tank is full and don't want it to come crashing down on me while taking out and moving center supports to open up space inside.
