DIY Sump Help

so i finally ordered a stand for my 36 bowfront and can finally make a sump for it.
i just wanted to know a few things first:
-where do i get the baffles, how do i cut them, and where can i get safe silicon to seal them?
-should i put bioballs in it or not?
-im gonna buy an overflow box but idk how to do the bulkheads and make it reach the sump
so far im probably gonna use a 20L as my sump. i was gonna do a fuge chamber w/ DSB LR and algae, a skimmer and heater chamber, a filter media chamber (chemipure carbon, sponge), and then the water to/from tank chambers. does this sound good?
thanks for any input

Eveything sounds good
.You can get the silicone at any home improvment store just make sure it says 100% silicone and same thing with the baffles i got mine at menards and i tried to use a acrylic knife but that took too long(pretty thick stuff) so i used a cutting wheel and it ate right through it.but im sure you can take them to any glass store and they can cut them for a fee.As for the bioballs i would skip on those and just use lr.Usually when you buy overflowboxes they already come with bulkheads installed and i'd just use flex hose from the box to your sump just make sure its a strait line...

Looks good
.I don't kno if it matters but all my baffles are the same height(9in) except the bubble trap baffle and yes i would definatly build it with one..as for your return it should be able to handle 70-100% of your overflow box,so say you get a box rated for 600gph you would buy a mag7 or mag9

thank for the help. how do you know how much gph the overflow box takes from the tank? im looking at an eshopps overflow that has a max intake of 300 gph...so is that how much it takes from the tank? should i get a bigger one? and could i just use pvc pipe on the overflow to my sump...and frm the pump back into the tank?

Yea thats how much water will flow from your tank to your sump.now you'll have to find a pump that will be able to handle that i'd say a 500gph pump depending on your head loss..I think a 300gph box should be fine you don't want too much flow through your sump but if you feel you want more then go with the 600gph box

Mag7 or mag9 depending on your stand height and plumbing.Google head loss calculator it will be like the 3rd link, click on it and you should be able to calculate exactly what you'll need
