Diy Sumps

Can see some pics of some of the diy sumps and refugiums users have made? I have a 29 gal and i wanted to make a sump or refugium out of my small 10 gallon or a small tupperware container.

I used a 10 gallon tank for a sump / fuge for my 29. I cant really take a picture now as its under the stand but I basically used acrylic to divide it in half one side for fuge other side for sump. Then there are 2 acrylic baffles on the sump side to avoid bubbles. The biggest problem I havewith it is the heater is so long it has to sit diagonal on the bottom of the sump side, but it works great other than that.

what is the L shaped section for? and what is the pvc pipe inside of said sections purpose?
