DIY T5s VS DIY LEDs

im stuck between choosing to do a DIY T5 project (which i know exactly all the materials i need and how to do it) or going with a LED DIY project (which i have no idea how to do at all).
i have a 36 gallon bowfront and i know i can make a T5 project for it for under $200 for sure. i have no idea how much a DIY LED project would cost...i know it saves $$ on bulbs and electricity though. so what im asking is:
-how many LEDs (white + blue NM) do i need to keep all corals in a 36 gallon?
-what are all the materials i would need?
-and whats an estimate cost for an LED project like this one?
i guess what i comes down to is the simplicity of T5 vs LED and the cost of T5 vs LED. any help would be appreciated...thanks.

i was thinking the same thing...theres alot of stuff involving LEDs and T5 DIYs are so simple compared to them. i was leaning more towards T5s but i didnt want to regret not doing LEDs. but now that i think about it id rather spend more money on bulbs and electricity (even though im 15 and my parents pay for the electricity) and go with a T5 project.
