diy top off system help

I was wondering if any one has a good idea for a diy top off system that isnt even close to a water source. I cant run anything to it for a top off. What I am looking for is a system that will fit behind my tank that will hold around 3 or 4 gallons. any ideas will be greatly appericated. I have a corner behind my tank and it has a bunch of rooom behind it.

Do you have a sump? If so, all you need is an adjustable float valve, and small tank.

not to hijack, but what if you don't have a sump?

If you really wanted, I guess you could use this set up without a sump, but this is a rather large piece of equipment @ 5g and I personally would rather not view it above my tank. You would also have to build a rather tall stand for it, if it is set above your DT. If you really wanted you could do it that way, but it's just much easier to hide below your DT.

I'm just looking for something for like a few days like if you're away for a couple of days. My tank is higher up in a TV niche, so I have no room underneath. Everything is HOB. It's a 46gal and I run it without a top, evap costs me about a 1/2 to 1gal a day I think. Total guesstimate....

Just looking at ideas...
