Is there any good wet dry plans out there? Like links? I really need help.
Don't make it too hard.
what I did was take a wastbasket. Cut out 4 squares in the corners of the bottom leaving a cross side to side. Then siliconed on a plastic window screen.
then filled the basket with crushed oyster shells with another screen on them and some lava rocks.
then had the drain for my overflow in top of that.
With the basket sitting as the input into my sump and resting on some rocks.
I also had some overflow holes in the basket at the top.
then every 3-4 months or when water started comming out theoverflow holes, I picked up the entire mess, rinsed the filter media, did a clean up, usually added some more shells, and returned it the sump.
You get the idea just keep it simple. Obviously you could use something other then oyster shells for media. I liked them because they were inexpensive, did some calcium buffering, and lasted a long time.
