I walked into a hole-in-the-wall aquarium store today just to buy a one-way check valve I needed, and as I looked around, my jaw got lower and lower. This place was a freakin' time warp to about 15-20 years ago. I am talking 'magic diver,' 'mill stream,' the whole bit.
Their top shelf saltwater 'equipment' consisted of wet/drys with DLS!!! and small air-stone driven skimmers. I haven't seen DLS in a long time, have you?
I was having freakin' flashbacks! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I mean, I used to have that stuff, and it worked, I guess, but hey, isn't it time to move on?
And don't even get me started on what his display tanks looked like.
I guess my point is, if this guy wants to stay old-school in his own house that is one thing, but I feel bad for the people that pay his fluffy prices for that stuff and god-who-knows advice. Jeez. DLS!
