This is a question for all you techies out there.... Recently my PS3 has gotten into the habit of signing me off and then telling me that its a DNS error. Anyone could tell me what the heck is going on. It never used to do that before.... BTW its when I play CoD4

Whatever

I have PS3 and I play COD 4 also. Sorry if this sounds dumb but what does it say when a DSN error occurs?? Sometimes mine will just randomly disconnect me from the PSN but that is totally my WIFI modem, it just started doing this thing where it won't renew the IP address sometimes and I have to unplug it and reset it. Maybe it could be something like that??? BTW my PSN name is Lisa0307

cause then all you gotta worry about is a Red ring and then NOTHING works.
have you tried running the network setup again on it maybe reassign its IP or DNS #

I havent really tried anything. When it gives me the DNS error this is what happens. Im playing and all of a sudden it tells me connection interrupted and it kicks me off. Then it tries to log me back on and it tells me that it cannot log me in and that this is a DNS error. A wait a minute and then I can log on and keep playing like normal. It never used to do this before. I know that its not my wifi connection because the PS3 and my cpu kept connected, but cannot use the internet. Wierd stuff... hope it fixes itself.

Sounds like exactly what mine does. I get the DNS msg too, I just didn't know that's what it was called. How is your PS3 still connected to the internet if it says connection interupted?? If it signs you out of PSN, and gives you a DNS msg. it means you are no longer connected to the internet. It most likely IS something to do with your internet connection or modem by the sounds of it. If it gets worse I'd check that first. I can play for hours "normally" then all the sudden I just lose connection, get a DNS msg. and have to reset my modem, then I can reconnect and play for hours once again.
