do anemones shed their skin?

While feeding my tank tonight I noticed that one of my anemones tentacles seemed to be shedding it's skin. I watched it for a bit and the skin shedded. The tentacle looked just fine after the shedding. I was just wondering if this is normal? :notsure:
oh yeah...it's a PTHA

It was only one tentacal. Other than that, the anemone seems to be in great shape. It eats. It's even grown sice I put it in my tank.

They don't have an exoskeleton to shed, but they may produce a bit of mucus from time to time. They also don't shed tentacles normally either, so do you know why this happend? What type of clown do you have?

Don't have a clown. Have 2 yellow tailed damsels. My little damsel is always hanging out near the anemone. I've yet to see it dive in. Now that you say it, it may have just been mucus. The tentacle didn't come off. It just reminded of back in the day when I had a snake and it would shed it's skin. It looked kind of like that. The tentacle was still inflated and flowing in the current.

Checked all day after the lights came on. Looks great and healthy. I Guess Thomas was right, as usual.
Thanks Thomas
