do banned people get warnings?

I keep hearing about people getting banned in the future once things are fixed on the website. I'm opinionated on some things and aloof on others, but unfortunately typing can make someone sound rude. I would hate to be banned from this site. I just want to find out that if someone is possibly going to get banned if they get a warning first. I know a couple people were banned and didn't know why so i'm assuming you dont...

Everyone that gets banned gets MANY warnings.
Only instance when no warning is given is when they start posting ---- just to make the Mods. mad and or cursing someone out badly.
Mods. cannot ban someone. the Admin. office does that from our proposals and then they make the final call to ban or not. Mods. cannot go around banning people. We can warn, not ban. Barry

To reiterate what Barry said and to reassure you of your membership status, everyone definitely gets several warnings unless they do something so terrible that they have to go (post

images, go off on a cursing tirade, severally verbally attack another member). Besides, I already told you that your posts were not an issue when you asked about it. Don't worry, there is no problem with you. It is quite noticeable who the problem members are and we make it apparent to them that they are on a short leash unless they change.
We do not look down on differing opinions. You will encounter a difference in opinion everywhere you go. We want to put an end to fights, bickering, name-calling, personal attacks, etc.

I too have always wondered how that worked. That makes total sense now.

i know you said before, but then again on the dog post going on it was brought up again and i wasn't sure if my post was considered by people rude. i love this site and would rather get a warning than get banned immediately without being able to respond to something.

Not an issue. We only ban people because we love this site also and do not want to see it decline. We want to keep a helpful and friendly community here.

by any chance is your banning (whatever you use to bann) working now?.. i was wondering about this also.. as a mod once told me "you will find yourself banned very shortly" about a month ago.. and nothing happened.. i toom it as a warning, and have definatly been better, but have always been wondering.."are they gunna fix it today and bann me??".. :notsure:

Warnings are given directly on the message board. Nothing is sent in email. Trust me, we make it very known to the people in question when they are close to being banned.

Warnings are given in minor instances, and a warning doesn't necessarily even mean you're up for a ban. However, SWF, and its mods, do not have to warn. If behavior is so outrageous and intolerable, then the person will be gone just as fast as we can do it.
And, BTW, everything is fixed now.
